Crisis Response will take any opportunity to build relationships.

What is the fastest growing sport in the United States three years running? Pickleball. What is the best sport for people over 55? Pickleball. What sport is Gail’s brother Michael a fanatic about? Yes, Pickleball.
What is Crisis Response trying to do even more than re-building houses? Establishing relationships, since these can lead to the sharing of the Gospel. What does a good active Pickleball community do? Establish relationships. Most Pickleball locations rotate teams so you don’t always play with the same person. You get to know people. What can Gail’s brother Michael do by offering Pickleball clinics? Establish relationships for Crisis Response in a local community.

Which is to say, Gail’s brother Michael came down to Ft Myers from his snowbird home in the Villages (FL), and taught three days of beginning and intermediate Pickleball. The event was held in Spring Creek Village, the community where God has been clearly working as we have rebuilt homes. What a great opportunity to establish relationships with a whole subset of the community we’ve been less involved with!
