We have had a wonderful trip to see all kinds of family in the eastern part of the US: (1) Daughter Bethany and family in New York; (2) Daughter Hannah and family in Pennsylvania (also daughter Tina and family came up for that); (3) Gail’s brother Michael and family in New Jersey; (4) Bob’s sisters Judi and Jean and families in western North Carolina; (5) Gail’s sister Pat and family in North Carolina; (6) Bob’s sister Joyce and family in Georgia. It was a joy to see all of you! Love you all!
I didn’t take near as many pictures as I should have, but here are a few, including some of the near-fall-color scenery we’ve spotted.

In the midst of all that Gail flew back to Houston to provide a trauma training at Refuge Church, an Evangelical Free Church plant that is ministering to Afghan refugees. It went well and the simple, compelling ways the training gives to talk to people who have been through crisis were deeply appreciated.
Now we transition to the response site in Ft. Myers, Florida. We will arrive on Sunday, October 15 and we’ll get to work in homes and with homeowners the next day. The first week we’ll be working with staff and adjunct staff, but the second, and third weeks we’ll be working with teams from Wisconsin. We’re really looking forward to serving with teams, homeowners, and staff. The heartbeat of our ministry commitment is helping those who have been through crisis grow closer to Jesus, but we also want to build up those who serve. Please pray for our time in Florida.
If you would like to be on our frequent pray-ers team and get more frequent updates by email, send a note to rjdegray@gmail.com, (Bob) gsdegray@gmail.com (Gail) or comment on this post. If you would like to support our ministry financially, visit https://give.efca.org/missionaries/bob-gail-degray. As part of our transition to long term ministry, we need to meet our monthly support goal, and we’re still about $1200 a month short. Any monthly gift, even a small one, would be greatly appreciated.
